Vision Quest

Burusu, an indigenous traveler takes a vision quest pilgrimage to honor his ancestors in this cinematic 4k short filmed in Joshua Tree National Monument. Continuing in the cooperative filmmaking tradition of Dog in the Manger(2009) indigenous artist Brus Rubio collaborates with one man crew Renzo Zanelli for this intimate journey. Taking a spin on man vs nature, the pilgrimage is not only about interconnecting & respecting nature but also takes the viewer into the indigenous mindset where the distinction between reality, dreams, & visions are sometimes indistinct.
